Performer and choreographer Manon Bouquet founded her own dance company in 2022.
The company was born out of a creation that brought together 30 dancers, exploring the artistic stagnation caused by the pandemic and how collaborative energy helped her navigate that period.This first collaboration, Le Groupe, was performed on stage and also adapted into a short film that was broadcast by several cultural media outlets.In 2022, the Cie Manon Bouquet created a new short piece, Le Grand Dîner, continuing her exploration of social exchange.
Le Grand Dîner and Le Groupe are part of a six-part series entitled La Grande Vie.
The company is now developing a full-length show, La Grande Vie, with a premiere scheduled for 2024.For this creation, the choreographer chose to collaborate with multidisciplinary dancers and performers she had met through previous artistic encounters.
Her deep knowledge of the cast allowed her to select very distinct—and at times even contrasting—personalities, whose individual experiences resonate strongly with this new project.Indeed, Manon places great importance on human relationships, which she highlights throughout the creative process.The Cie Manon Bouquet presents a contemporary choreographic language but seeks to transcend technique by exploring diverse aesthetics.
This choice reflects the choreographer’s focus on the intention behind movement beyond form, and on the richness that comes from the performers’ varied interpretations.
