ARTE en scène x Blogothèque : Le rêve perdu
A dancer, the sea and the horizon: here is the framework of the new issue of ARTE on stage. Manon Bouquet takes us to a Normandy beach, where the grey of the sky mixes with rough sea. There, she presents on the haunting music of Laure Brisa an unpublished creation called Le Rêve perdu.
Manon Bouquet is as comfortable with classical dance as contemporary dance. Active since 2012, her career led her alongside big names in French chanson, in their music videos as well as on tour. This jack-of-all-trades side also allowed the artist to perform in musicals, operas, or major TV shows. In The Lost Dream, Manon Bouquet struggles against the elements. Facing the wind, she struggles, surrenders, gasps, resists to finally collapse at the foot of the waves. From this fight arises an invisible force, a presence. This performance thus allows the dancer to fill the void created by the absence of an audience since sharing and exchange are indeed at the heart of Manon Bouquet’s artistic approach. Let’s conjure together the vacuum that separates us.
